Virginia de la Cruz Lichet (Chartres, 1978) es profesora titular en la Universidad de Lorraine y miembro del laboratorio de investigación «Écritures» (UL, Francia). Doctora en Historia del Arte por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2010), su tesis tiene por título «Retratos fotográficos post-mortem en Galicia. Siglos XIX y XX». Su investigación se centra en la función del arte y de la fotografía en los procesos de duelo y del culto a la memoria, tanto a través de la fotografía de difuntos –desde el siglo XIX hasta nuestros días–, como a través del Arte más contemporáneo y actual. Entre sus publicaciones más destacadas: El retrato y la muerte (Madrid: Temporae, 2013); Imatges de mort. Representacions fotogràfiques de la mort ritualitzada (Valencia: Museu Valencià d’Etnología, 2017)

Virgina de la Cruz Lichet (Chartres, 1978), is a tenured teacher at the University of Lorraine and a member of the «Écritures» research laboratory (UL, France). PhD in History of Art from the Complutense University of Madrid (2010), her thesis is entitled “Post mortem photographic portraits in Galicia. 19th and 20th Centuries.» Her research focuses on the role of art and photography in the proceses of mourning and the cult of memory, both through the photography of the deceased -from the 19th century to the present day-, aswell as through more contemporary art.
